STRETCH GOAL #3 UNLOCKED!
about 5 years ago – Wed, Mar 20, 2019 at 12:24:19 AM

YOU ALL HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!

We have passed our 3rd Stretch Goal and are well on our way to the 4th goal. But right now we have the "Surrender" music video and the series of ART process videos on how I created the illustrations for SONGS OF GIANTS added to all the print level rewards!

Thanks to you, this project is getting better every day. I am already allowing myself to plan a few additional stretch goals. So keep sharing and SONGS OF GIANTS will keep getting better and better!

STRETCH GOALS, ANYONE?
about 5 years ago – Mon, Mar 18, 2019 at 08:00:39 PM

FULLY FUNDED IN LESS THAN 5 DAYS!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

I feel like we had to have broken a land speed record hitting our funding goal in so short a time. I am blown away by your early and strong support!

This happened so fast that we still have time for some great stretch goals. Next up is having the special signing plate bound into the book. Such a lovely extra, that adds a great deal of expense to the binding of the book. When we hit $6000, that will be unlocked! And we are already almost there!

And at $6500 we unlock an audio extra! A music video with lyrics by Robert E. Howard! REH wrote with such rhythm and cadence, so well suited for song! He would recite his writing while he typed, savoring the sounds of the words. I've always wished someone could have made a recording of Howard as he chanted his tales. And perhaps this song will give us all a hint of what that might have been like? This music will be a great compliment to the incredible audio book of SONGS OF GIANTS that Mark Redfield and Jennifer Rouse are producing. Personally, if we hit no other stretch goal, this will be my personal favorite!

We have more stretch goals. But I am cautious about predicting how many we might unlock. It really depends on how extensively we all can get the word out about SONGS OF GIANTS! But right now, I think just about anything is possible!

Thanks again! I love pulp! I love poetry! And I have loved every minute I've spent illustrating SONGS OF GIANTS. And with this kind of support, I will be happy creating more projects like SONGS OF GIANTS!

STRETCH GOAL #1 UNLOCKED! STRETCH GOAL #2 UNLOCKED!
about 5 years ago – Mon, Mar 18, 2019 at 11:59:16 AM

Wow! While I was sleeping, SONGS OF GIANTS hit Stretch Goal #1! I got up early and put together a graphic and wrote an update. And before I could send out the update, we hit Stretch Goal #2!

So now we have the bound-signing plate!

And we also have the Robert E. Howard music video of "Surrender" added to the audio rewards! In fact we will have a premiere of the music video in the next few days, since production is nearly complete! And you will see it here first!

Now, before we hit Stretch Goal #3 and I have to write this update over again, I want to send this off. But I am so grateful for your support! Thank you! Keep sharing and making the world safe for the Poetry of Pulp!

NOTE: We are working on something for our international backers. We have been working on this since before the launch, but winding our way through regulations and rules for the several groups, businesses and organizations we are working with has made for slow going. I sincerely hope to be able to announce something about this later today or tomorrow.

YOU REALLY LOVE SONGS OF GIANTS!
about 5 years ago – Thu, Mar 14, 2019 at 08:09:05 PM

Thank you all! Thanks for your support and for sharing the campaign! In just 48 hours we are 58% funded! If we can keep this up, everyone will be getting some very nice upgrades!

One thing that is going to help us is that Kickstarter has just selected SONGS OF GIANTS as a "Project we love!" We are very grateful for that kind of recognition. And grateful for the added exposure that will give us.

Meanwhile, if you have not listened to the audio samples for the audio book version of SONGS OF GIANTS, you are missing out on an exceptional experience. The audio book is turning out so nicely that I fully expect that years from now people will remember SONGS OF GIANTS as an audio book that had an illustrated book to go with it!

Thanks again, and please keep sharing the link!

TWENTY FOUR!
about 5 years ago – Wed, Mar 13, 2019 at 01:56:43 PM

Thank you all for being a part of SONGS OF GIANTS!

Thanks to you all, the first twenty four hours of this campaign have been very gratifying! Now, we just have to keep the momentum going until we unlock all those lovely stretch goals!

Nothing comes easy, my friends. I first conceived the idea for this book quite a few years ago. When I finally was able to take time from my schedule to work on the illustrations, I invested a year and a half into their creation! And I have still just a little bit of work left to do. (Looks like I'll have the book complete in the next two weeks.)

Today, I am thankful that so many of you have been sharing this campaign on social media sites! Really wonderful support! I've been trying to share the work too on my main online hang-out; my fan page on Facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/WheatleyMarks

But posting on Facebook has been an adventure today! Hopefully they will fix whatever they are having problems with soon. But the truth is, even with the posting problems on Facebook, we all have managed to get the word out. I appreciate it! Sharing the campaign is just about the most helpful thing anyone can do to help SONGS OF GIANTS turn into an amazing book! So share early and often! And let's start unlocking those stretch goals! To make it simple, we have this short URL:

Meanwhile, here is a preview sample of one of the illustrations I just finished:
